Official MCLA Data: Team and Player Stats Access
From The MCLA on Thursday, February 26th, 2009The MCLA (Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association) Technology Committee is pleased to announce the public availability of a complete API for accessing official statistics directly from the MCLA.
The announcement of a public API marks the first time official statistics have been formally disseminated to teams, news outlets, or other interested parties. This “Expert API” is ideal for developers with working knowledge of forming request strings and parsing XML responses. Currently v1.0 offers access to team rosters, team schedules, final game scores, and player statistics.
Developers interested in accessing MCLA data must first review the terms of use and register for an “API Key” at http://api.mcla.us/.
Outside of the API, an RSS feed of Official MCLA News and Press Releases is available at feed://mcla.us/feed/
Will Duderstadt, MCLA.us lead developer remarks, “News outlets, fan sites, or individual teams can utilize the new API to pull specific statistics and display that information in any manner they like. This API ensures all interested MCLA partner sites have consistent and up-to-date information directly from the MCLA. With so many talented web developers out there, I look forward to seeing some creative and unique uses of this data.”
Questions should be addressed to admin@mcla.us.
