2010 SELC Pre-Season Poll
2009 Champs picked to repeat in SELC Preseason Polls
Defending Champions Florida State (DI) and Emory (DII) have been tabbed to successfully defend their crowns in 2010.
FSU received 16 points in the DI Poll to lead last year’s runner-up Virginia Tech (36). The Hokies were followed very closely by Florida (39).
The Georgia Bulldogs were selected in the 5th spot with 81 points, followed by Auburn (95), Clemson (106), Tennessee (122), Georgia Tech (140), Central Florida (144), and South Carolina (155) to round out the top 10 in DI.
Regionally, Clemson edged Tennessee by 2 points as the choice in the DI Central, Virginia Tech was the unanimous pick in the DI North, Florida State ahead of Florida in the DI South by 12 points, and Auburn nipped Georgia by 1 point for the nod in the DI West.
In DII, chasing Emory (19 points) are last year’s runner-up Elon (35), followed by UNC-Charlotte (72) Kennesaw State and Savannah College of Art & Design (tied at 74), Coastal Carolina (76), North Florida (103), Tennessee Wesleyan (109), Georgia State (121), and Palm Beach Atlantic (127).

North Region (East Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Va Tech, Wake Forest) defending champion Virginia Tech was selected to repeat followed by South Carolina.
West Region (Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ga Tech, Mississippi) saw 2009 champion Auburn edge Georgia for the title by 2 points.
South Region (Central Florida, Florida, FSU, Miami, South Florida) pick was Florida State trailed by Florida.

Central Region (Emory, Furman, Ga State, Kennesaw, Reinhardt, Tn Wesleyan) defending champion Emory got the nod followed by Kennesaw State
