One World Lacrosse’s “Climb for a Cause”
DENVER, August 1, 2010- One World Lacrosse announces it will partner up with Mile High Mountaineering and The C-List in hosting a fundraiser, “Climb for a Cause,” to raise money for their upcoming excursion to the Salta region of Argentina. OWL is looking for teams of five members to complete as many 14ers as they can over the course of one month, beginning August 14th and ending September 14th. Summited peaks will be counted cumulatively; a single team member can summit a peak for one point, and as a whole, an entire team of five summiting will accumulate five points. Teams must send photographs of their teams at each peak, waving a One World Lacrosse flag at the top. An entry fee of $100.00 is required of each team to cover administrative costs, as well as go towards the upcoming trip to Argentina. OWL’s new sponsor, Mile High Mountaineering, will be donating $800.00 worth of new packs and equipment for prizes.
One World Lacrosse has recently launched as a new non-profit organization with the mission to provide underprivileged youth in impoverished countries a chance to improve their overall well being though our nations oldest sport—lacrosse. Unlike other non-profit lacrosse foundations that strictly work within the United States, One World Lacrosse aims to go beyond by implementing the game of Lacrosse to destitute areas around the world. In doing so, One World Lacrosse will provide youth with equipment that will allow the children to explore the vast array of athletic potential hidden beneath the impecunious burden that stain their daily lives. One World Lacrosse will visit less fortunate communities not only as leaders of the game, but as learners wishing to absorb another countries culture.
