BYU Lacrosse Returns to BYUtv

For the first time in three years the Brigham Young University Lacrosse team will have their games broadcast nationwide on BYUtv. The match-up between the Cougars and the University of San Diego Toreros will be broadcast live on Tuesday, March 15th at 7pm MST.

BYU’s North University Field, the new home of the BYU Men’s Lacrosse Team, has been earmarked for the latest broadcasting upgrades with traditional and HD broadcasting capabilities. Through the generous contributions from the Friends of BYU Lacrosse, the entire project will be completed in the Spring of 2011 including Direct Link fiber-optic connection to the recently completed, 100,000 square foot, state of the art BYU Broadcast Building as well as an upgraded power infrastructure at North University Fields capable of HD Broadcasting.

BYU Lacrosse was one of the first collegiate lacrosse programs in the country to have regular season games broadcast nationally on TV. With their move to the University’s new North University Field Complex, the men’s lacrosse team received a playing and practice field upgrade but unfortunately broadcasting capabilities were not available. This past year an initiative was implemented by Head Coach Matt Schneck to work with donors and raise the necessary funds to prepare North University Fields for future broadcasting opportunities.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity for lacrosse to be broadcast once again on BYUtv,” said Head Coach Matt Schneck. “We are especially excited for our BYU Lacrosse fans and alumni that are living in many different parts of the country. The University and BYUtv have been great to work with. They have the capability of broadcasting the highest quality lacrosse on national television while utilizing state of the art equipment and facilities. We are looking forward to this first game being broadcast with more games planned for the future.”
