Mike Allan Returns to UC Santa Barbara
The UCSB Men’s Lacrosse Team is pleased to announce the hiring of two-time MCLA National Champion Mike Allan as Head Coach for the 2011-12 season.
Coach Allan returns to UCSB after spending three years as an assistant coach at Towson University. Allan previously coached the Gauchos from 2004 to 2008. During that time, the team won two MCLA National Championships, three WCLL Championships and had an overall record of 85 wins and 22 losses.
Coach Allan is a native of Baltimore, MD where he attended the Gilman School. He then continued his playing career at Princeton University where he was a member of three NCAA National Championship teams. Allan’s wife, Katie, is a graduate of UCSB and former member of the Gaucho women’s lacrosse team.
Allan said, “Throughout the interview process, I was very impressed with the players, and they made it very clear that they want to put in the work to compete for a National Championship. It’s a very dedicated group, and I can’t wait to get started. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to live in a city that I love and coach a program that I have a strong connection to. I am looking forward to building on the winning tradition here at UCSB.”
UCSB released former Interim Head Coach Lane Jaffe after one season with the team. We wish Lane the best of luck in his future endeavors.
