NASHVILLE – Trailing 7-2 at halftime to No. 6 St. John’s, No. 5 Grand Valley rallied to take a stunning, 12-11 victory over the Johnnies in a game played at Vanderbilt.

The Lakers (2-0) still trailed by a goal late in the contest, but tied it with 1:16 remaining before Seth Kuehnl buried the game-winner with 14 ticks remaining.

Erick Sundstrom poured in four goals along with dishing out an assist for GVSU while Kento Nakano, Michael Meshinski and Kuehnl each buried two goals in the win. Kyrn Stoddard made 13 stops in net.

Five different players had two goals for St. John’s (1-2) while Ryan Nelson had 16 saves.

No. 13 Sierra Nevada d. No. 11 Cal State Fullerton
Dylan Fangmeier scored a pair of goals and the SNC (3-0) defense allowed just eight shots to Fullerton (5-1) in a 5-3 grinding victory for the Eagles. Austin Farina had to make just five stops to pick up the win.

No. 21 San Diego d. No. 24 Metro State
Drew Harvey scored five goals and set up a sixth, leading San Diego (3-2) to a dramatic, 13-12 victory over Metro State (2-1). Aidan Kennedy added five points (3g, 2a) and Brandon Rausch chipped in with three (2g, 1a).

No. 8 Arizona d. No. 13 Boston College
Goalie Tanner Knego made 13 saves to stifle the No. 13 BC (2-2) offense while Christian Turri scored four goals as No. 8 Arizona (5-1) rolled up on the Eagles, 16-5.

Washington d. Simon Fraser
Sean Maier used a roll-back move to bury a shot in overtime, giving the Huskies (2-3) a key PNCLL victory over Simon Fraser (1-4). The Clansmen are now 0-3 in conference play and in jeopardy of missing the league tourney.
