ATLANTA – Cal sits atop the Under Armour MCLA Division I Coaches poll for a second straight week, but now the Golden Bears must grapple with their toughest opponent to date.
Cal entertains No. 5 Cal Poly on Saturday for the top spot in the WCLL tournament while the Bears will cling to their hopes of maintaining the No. 1 seed in the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.
Grand Canyon picked up another first place vote from last week, giving the Lopes three and keeping them firmly in second place. Georgia Tech started its slow climb potentially back to the top by moving up to No. 3 with a first vote.
Colorado and Cal Poly rounded out the Top 5. Despite an 0-2 weekend, BYU fell a lone spot to No. 6.
With an 0-2 road trip, Boise State fell out of the poll, making way for UNLV to sneak back in at No. 24.
