ST. LOUIS – Washington University will be the site for the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference tournament this weekend with nine different teams vying for the conference championship.

The winners in each division of the GRLC will earn an automatic berth in the 2017 MCLA National Championship powered by Under Armour, which will be held in Orange County, Calif., from May 8-13.

Indiana and Missouri grabbed the top seeds out of their respective divisions on the D-I side. The Tigers will face Miami (Ohio) in one of the semifinals while the Hoosiers will await the winner of the Purdue-Nebraska affair on Friday evening.

The Division I championship game will occur at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Missouri State snared the top seed in the Division II tournament and grapple with St. Louis in the first semifinal. Creighton will play in the nightcap against the hosts in what may be Will Gilner’s final game on the Bluejay sideline after coaching for 15 years.

The finals will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

“St. Louis and Washington University provide a fantastic backdrop for what should be a very exciting GRLC tournament,” said GRLC director Matt Gardiner. “From the first game on Friday night until we crown a pair of champions on Sunday, fans will get their money’s worth.”

Admission will be free on Friday and Saturday while Sunday’s championship games will be $5.
