TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida State men's lacrosse program has announced the resignation of head coach Jerry DeLorenzo and the immediate opening for his replacement with the Seminoles.

Interested head coaching candidates should submit their resumes via email to Florida State team president Dawson Allen at dawsonscottallen@gmail.com. He can be reached via phone at (561) 558-7356. The candidate should include details of playing and coaching careers.

The team is seeking a mature and experienced coach who is able to balance the challenges of coaching a player-run MCLA program while creating a winning culture at a major university that makes recruiting top lacrosse talent possible.

Candidates should include a cover letter and two references. The deadline for resume submission is August 28. All inquiries and applications will be kept confidential.

DeLorenzo took over for the Seminoles at the conclusion of the 2015 campaign, leading FSU to a 14-1 record and a No. 19 national ranking in 2016.

Last spring, the Noles went 14-4, including wins against five ranked teams and an appearance in the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour. The Seminoles lost a nail-biter in triple overtime against No. 3 seed Colorado.

DeLorenzo leaves Tallahassee with a record of 27-6. The team wishes him all the best in his future endeavors and thanks him for his contributions to the program.

Florida State lacrosse is a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I. FSU competes in the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC).
