ATLANTA – On the strength of a single vote, Utah has unseated defending national champion Grand Canyon as the No. 1 team in the Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending March 6.
The Utes (5-0) and Lopes (4-0) each received 12 first place votes, but Utah was able to grab the top spot thanks to 629 total points to Grand Canyon’s 628.
Chapman (6-0), fresh off its win against No. 8 Virginia Tech on Tuesday night (that was not counted in this poll), stayed at No. 3 with a pair of first place votes.
For the third consecutive week, Michigan State (6-0) bounded up three spots in the poll and now sit at No. 4. Colorado (3-1) rounds out the Top 5.
Minnesota (2-5) exits the poll this week, making way for No. 22 Davenport (4-0), which is coming off a 19-16 victory over No. 7 Brigham Young (3-1).
