CHELSEA, Mich. – For the seventh consecutive season, Michigan State is the Division I champion in the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association (CCLA).
The Spartans (14-1) raced out to a 5-1 lead against Minnesota (7-7) and the Golden Gophers could not sustain any kind of comeback attempt as State rolled, 16-5.
With the win, Michigan State earns an automatic qualifying bid to the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which takes place in Salt Lake City from May 7-12.
This will be the Spartans ninth visit to nationals.
