FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma and Texas A&M have earned the top seeds in the eight-team 2018 Lone Star Alliance Division I tournament, which is scheduled to begin on April 14-15 at home sites.

The Sooners (11-3, 5-0 LSA North) and Aggies (8-3, 3-0 LSA South) posted perfect marks in their respective conference subdivisions, making them co-favorites to win the automatic qualifying bid to the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.

Oklahoma will host Texas State (2-6, 0-3) in the quarterfinals after the Bobcats earned the No. 4 seed out of the LSA South. Texas A&M draws North four seed Texas Tech (8-7, 2-3).

LSA DIVISION I TOURNAMENT BRACKET

Two-time defending LSA champion Southern Methodist (6-6, 3-1) and Texas (6-5, 2-1) grabbed the second seeds in their respective subdivisions and will square off against LSU (4-7, 1-2) and TCU (3-9, 3-2), respectively.

“Once again, the Lone Star Alliance Division I playoff is going to be one of the most competitive tournaments in the MCLA postseason,” said LSA director Jason Zantjer. “All eight of these programs have had solid seasons and I’m looking forward to see how it plays out.”

After home site games on April 14-15, the semifinals and finals of the LSA tournament will be hosted by the University of Texas in Austin on April 21-22.

All three games will be streamed live on MCLA.us via our friends at StickStar Productions.

LSA tournament games will be free of charge to the general public and local youth and high school teams are encouraged to attend.
