DENVER – Colorado Denver and Utah State have grabbed top seeds in the 2019 Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) Division II tournament that will commence on Friday on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder.
CU Denver (6-3, 3-0 RMLC) rolled through the Southeast subdivision with a perfect mark and will face Northwest second seed Montana State (6-5, 2-1) in the first semifinal on Friday morning.
Utah State (5-3, 3-0) will square off with Southeast No. 2 MSU Denver (4-9, 1-2) in the second semifinal. The two teams met just last Saturday, with the Aggies taking an 18-9 decision against the Roadrunners.
The winners of the two semifinals will meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the winner earning an automatic qualifying berth to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which takes place in Salt Lake City from May 6-11.
“The Boulder campus is a wonderful venue to host a tournament and these teams should put on a good show,” said RMLC director John Robinette. “I expect four very competitive contests.”
Admission to all of the RMLC tournament games is free.
