CROWN POINT, Ind. – With a dominating offensive display over three days, Minnesota won the 2019 Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) Division I championship. The Golden Gophers defeated Purdue, 19-5, on Sunday for the title.

With the win, Minnesota (14-6) earns an automatic bid to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which takes place in Salt Lake City from May 6-11. This will be the Gophers second visit to nationals after last earning a ticket in 2005.

Purdue (6-7) was hanging around after the first quarter only trailing, 4-2, but the second quarter would give an indication how this afternoon was going to shake out.

The Gophers went on a 7-0 romp in the second to take an 11-2 lead that would not be threatened.

Minnesota will find out its seed this evening when the selection committee unveils the Division I bracket, which will be posted on MCLA.us.
