(Denton, TX) - Texas Tech started off slow but managed to keep the score tied at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was not as strong for the Red Raiders as they went into the half trailing 6-3. The Red Raiders showed promise coming out of the half but could not keep up with the UNT transition game. Tech was led once again by the stellar play of seniors Landon Ludlow and Bryce Wolf (3,3). The defense was a rag-tag group with 2 starters out but Justin Castle, Gavin Carr, and Mark Meyer played extremely well. Tech looks to rebound against UT tomorrow at Ford Field.
The Mean Green and Tech went punch for punch in the first quarter which ended in a 3-3 tie. NT took control of the second quarter, putting in 3 more and not letting up any. The Mean Green had a 6-3 lead at the end of the first half. The third quarter was low scoring for NT, with Tech out-scoring NT 2-1, to close the lead to 7-5 NT. The final quarter kept the fans at the edge of their seats, with NT and Tech each putting up goals. NT was able to out-score Tech 5-4, sealing a 12-9 victory. Good play on both sides of the ball.
NT is hosting OSU on Sunday February 28 at 1:00 pm.
