QUOTES SFU Co-Head Coach Brent Hoskins On BYU: "Today’s game was once again a battle back and forth between the restraining lines. We knew that the Cougars would compete hard all game and we were able to capitalize on the opportunities generated."
SFU Co-Head Coach Jeff Cathrea On Simon Fraser: "We are happy with the way our offense capitalized on their chances today. We were able to able to run and gun when we needed to but also did a great job of controlling the ball and establishing settled possessions. BYU is known for their transition game but we were also able to do an effective job with our ride and create some timely turnovers."

The BYU lacrosse team failed to bring its best Friday afternoon in its game against Simon Fraser and suffered the consequences of a 17-14 loss.
“It was very frustrating,” sophomore attacker Drew Shumway said. “We didn’t play to our ability.” The game started out with chaotic, back-and-forth scoring that continued throughout the whole game.
The Cougars led at the half by one, but several mistakes gave Simon Fraser easy opportunities — they outscored BYU by two goals in both the third and fourth quarters, winning it, 17-14.
BYU played at its opponent’s pace for the majority of the game, and had a hard time gaining any rhythm. “We have the talent to beat everyone we play,” Shumway said, “but they played with more heart, and that made the difference.”
