Jeff Criswell scored three goals to lead No. 8 Elon University past No. 15 Savannah College of Art and Design 10-6 in a men's lacrosse match Saturday (March 14) evening at the SCAD Athletics Complex.

The Bees fell to 3-8 and will return to action March 22 with a 4 p.m. match against Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga.

Elon took a 2-0 lead with a pair of first quarter goals by Zach Stone before Derek Shurson put the Bees in the scoring column with 14:28 remaining in the second quarter. Michael Pacicco put the Phoenix up 3-2 before Shelton Polka converted a turnover into a goal with 1:07 remaining. However, Elon to a 4-2 lead into halftime as Criswell converted a rebound into a goal with 4.0 seconds left.

The Phoenix scored the first two goals of the second half before Trey McKay off a John Healy assist got the Bees within three goals at 6-3 with 8:58 remaining in the third quarter. After the Bees had another goal waved off for an illegal stick, Elon got another goal from Criswell to take a 7-3 lead with 8:07 left. The Bees closed the quarter with goals from Healy and Kyle Narkiewicz to get within 7-5. However, the Phoenix responded with three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to take control of the match at 10-5. Polka scored the final goal for the Bees off an assist from Justin Sicard with 3:00 remaining.
