Game Commentary Provided by Teams

Unfortunately an outstanding performance by USD Goalie, #12 Des Bolia, was not enough to lift his teammates to a win over the Broncos of Santa Clara.
Santa Clara overcame the elements and were able to find their footing and establish themselves offensively. Credit to the Santa Clara players and coaching staff, as this was something that the Toreros themselves were never able to do. Both defenses played well, but Santa Clara won this game because they overwhelmingly won the ground ball/number of possession battle.
Our thanks to the Broncos, we hope to make this an annual game between these two WCC and Jesuit programs.
Thanks to USD for playing through the weather and less than favorable field conditions. The Broncos unleashed 55 shots and the USD keeper saved 20. Leading the Broncos on offense were Sr. Attackmen Liam Byrne with 6 assists and Charlie Ellis 5 goals, 3 assists.

SCU takes on WCLL conference rival Cal Poly on Saturday at 7 PM on the soggy turf of Bellomy Field.
