In their 1st game played in Titan Stadium since last year's win vs UCI, the Titans started hot and stayed hot until the final whistle. Midway through the 1st quarter, Defenseman Deron Hansen scored the first goal of year for any of CSUF's longpoles. Keeping up the scoring surge in the 1st was Mike Ansel who scored 2 goals in that quarter and finished the game with a strong 6G's and 5A's. Goalie Ozhan Kashkooli also had arguably his best game of the season, saving 81% of shots on goal, as well as doing a great job clearing the ball.
Everyone who played for CSUF this game stepped up their game big time. The key to the Titan's win last night was playing tight, solid defense as well as creating turnovers on rides. Both were executed brilliantly which ultimately led to the Titan's 11th victory of the season, finishing conference play with a 6-1 record.
Everytime the Titans take the field in the stadium, they seem to play their most inspirational ball. Thanks for Pepperdine for making the trip down to Fullerton.
Cal State Fullerton finishes up their regular season against UC Santa Cruz next Saturday, then returns to Titan Stadium for the SLC Semi-Finals.
