Game Commentary Provided by Teams

On a mild day in Lexington Marquette squared off with Kentucky. The game started slow in the first half with both defenses standing their ground and not allowing for a lot of scoring. Both offenses were adjusting to the wet conditions and the lack of traction. Going into the half Marquette had squeaked out to a one goal lead at 4-3. In the second half both offenses found their groove and the game was back in forth with Kentucky gaining the lead with 2 minutes to go only to have Marquette tie it up at 12. In the OT Marquette won the face-off but committed a turnover. Kentucky was able to get the ball and got a man-up on an illegal body check. Kentucky converted the man-up about 45 seconds in to win the game. Thank you to Kentucky for hosting. Marquette was lead on the day be freshman Padeen Reed & Pat Van Dusen who each had 4 goals. Marquette battles Illinois next week at home.
