Game Commentary Provided by Teams

MASON, Ohio - Grove City College edged the Savannah College of Art and Design 9-7 in a men's lacrosse match Friday (Feb. 12) evening in a battle of nationally ranked teams.

The 15th-ranked Bees fell to 1-1 and will return to action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 13) against No. 2 University of Dayton in Cincinnati.

Shelton Polka registered four goals against the No. 12-ranked Wolverines while Trey McKay, Keaton Monroe and Derek Shurson tallied a goal each. McKay also assisted on two goals while Monroe had one. Wade Winebrenner recorded 16 saves for the Bees.
A late game that didn't finish until 1:30 AM. It was a sloppy first half, with SCAD possessing the ball for the vast majority of the time. GCC's defense was strong, but the transition game struggled. Grove City hurt themselves a lot with unnecessary penalties, especially early. They got a bit more on track, particularly in the 4th quarter, taking the lead at the beginning of the period. Andrew Dymski engineered a strong defensive effort, notching 21 saves and getting an assist as he pushed the ball out of the midfield. Good luck to SCAD the rest of this season!
