Game Commentary Provided by Teams

Portland State really just outplayed Willamette in every facet of the game. Right off the bat they came out with more intensity, more hustle, more everything. They quickly burst to an 8-1 lead after 1 quarter and never looked back. Willamette struggled on face-offs losing 22 out of 28. Willamette also failed to convert on 6 man up opportunities, including one two-man up penalty.

Graham Marshall had a decent day in cage but saw far too many shots to consider it a good day, letting in 20 out of 35 on cage. Andrew Parker was the fancy new thing on the block making many outstanding saves and sparking his team on many fast breaks with electric clearing passes.

The bright spots for WU were strong performances from Ian McAnnis-Entenman with 3 goals and freshman Andrew King with 2 goals, all unassisted.

Thanks to PSU for hosting, a quality squad with high character guys.
Portland State came out ready to win and executed on all the small things that win games. Face offs and ground balls were dominated by the Vikings. Ryan Haidar won 14 FO and picked up 8 GBs. On offense Freshman Attackman Nik Lund lead the Vikings in points with 7, while Midfielder Chris Riedl racked up 5 goals against the Bearcats. Freshman Goalie Andrew Parker stood tall in his first appearance for PSU with 11 saves and helped push the pace of transition with pin point feeds on the clear. Other outstanding performances came from Midfield transfer Eddie Phillips who was good for 4 goals, and Blair Robbins a returning Junior who made a switch from midfield to attack this season also tallied up 4 goals.
