Game Commentary Provided by Teams

Illinois hasn't commented on this game yet...
On a beautiful day in Milwaukee, Illinois and Marquette met for the third time in three years. Illinois has won the last two meetings in dominate fashion, but the two teams were expecting to have a good showdown after Marquette lost to Illinois in fall ball. The field had some snow on it still, but mostly good conditions. The game was back and forth with Marquette jumping out to a 5-3 halftime lead. However, in the second half Illinois tightened down defensively and Illinois had excellent goalie play from #1. They were able to make a 5-2 run in the second half to win the game 8-7. Thank you to Illinois for making the trip up. It was a tremendous game and thanks to all the fans as well. Marquette was lead by freshman Troy Gallus who had 4 goals and an assist along with freshman Pat Van Dusen who had 3 goals.
