Aquinas Names Captains for 2016

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Aquinas College men’s lacrosse team is proud to announce its captains for the upcoming 2016 season. Will Comai, Kyle Foley, Matt Mulcahy and Christian VanDrie were chosen by their teammates to lead and represent Aquinas and the lacrosse program. Each student-athlete has shown the dedication, commitment and attitude necessary to help lead the Saints into another exciting season.

Will Comai is a senior attackman from Battle Creek, Mich., and a computer informations system major. He was second on the team last season with 24 goals and third with 30 points. Last season he was named third team All-CCLA, honorable mention All-WHAC and team offensive MVP.

Kyle Foley is a senior attackman from Chicago and a biology major. Kyle scored 14 goals and added seven assists last season. In his Aquinas career, Foley has scored 42 goals and dished out 34 assists in 39 games.

Matt Mulcahy is a junior defender from Grand Haven, Mich.. He majors in athletic training and currently serves as a student trainer for the women’s soccer team at Aquinas. Last season, Mulcahy scored three goals, added an assist, and scooped up 71 ground balls. He was named first team All-WHAC. Mulcahy has also earned second team All-CCLA (2015) and third team All-CCLA (2014) honors in his career.

Christian VanDrie is a senior longstick midfielder from Grand Haven, Mich. He majors in sports management and community leadership. VanDrie has been named third team All-CCLA (2014) and honorable mention All-CCLA (2015), as well as honorable mention All-WHAC in 2014 and 2015. In 44 career games, VanDrie has six assists and 117 groundballs.

The Aquinas College Saints compete in MCLA Division II and are members of the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association (CCLA).
