ASU Opens Search for Assistant

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State University is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Defensive Coach for the Men’s Lacrosse team which plays in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. The team has been extremely successful having played in the MCLA National tournament for the last seven years.

Responsibilities
• Implement the team defensive philosophy and strategy.
• Instruct players on individual and team defensive concepts.
• Assist with daily practice planning, game preparation, coordinating game film and film exchanges, and assisting with team fundraisers.
• Assist the head coach in organizing and directing a comprehensive student-athlete support program Including promotion of the program, leadership development and student-athlete motivation.

This is a paid position and the salary will be assessed based on experience and availability. Candidates are expected to assist the head coach in the day-to-day administration the program.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate who has playing and coaching experience at the MCLA and/or NCAA level. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are essential. The program holds in high regard positive leadership, initiative, work ethic, commitment and responsibility.
