ATLANTA- West Virginia and Pittsburgh met last Friday in a game that looked like it would be close, but no one expected the shootout that ensued. The first quarter saw twelve goals scored and the second quarter took a step further and saw thirteen goals scored.  The Panthers were able to get the win 21-19 in a game that is giving both defensive coordinators nightmares.  Pittsburgh junior Marc Bartolomucci led the way for the Panthers with four goals and five assists.  Every point was crucial in such a tight rivalry game.  The Pittsburgh native pushed the Panthers to their second conservative win in ‘The Backyard Brawl.’

Pittsburgh coach Mike Eck said, “Marc has been lights out since he stepped on campus this fall. He draws the number one matchup each week and is asked to quarterback our offense. Not only does he consistently win that matchup, his facilitation of the ball has been elite (4.8 points per game), picking up GBs, causing turnovers on the ride and doing anything we ask of him. Marc has also stepped into more of a leadership role as of late, which is starting to pay dividends for our offense.”

In recognition of his efforts Bartolomucci has been named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week and will receive  a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
