BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Boston College earned its first PCLL victory of season on Sunday, defeating Buffalo, 16-8.

After a hard fought battle loss against Minnesota on Saturday, the Eagles bounced back aided by energizing senior leadership and inspiring play from their captains. Junior captain Griffin Carney dominated the faceoff X, winning 92 percent of the faceoffs while grabbing seventeen ground balls and chipping in with a goal. Senior captain Dan Trompeter shot the lights out, racking up five goals on the day.

Tied 5-5 at halftime, both the Eagles and Bulls struggled to take control and pull away from their opponent. However, brothers Seamus and Eamonn Scaring provided the spark the Eagles needed, each assisting on two pretty goals in Boston College's 7-1 run against the Bulls in the third.

The Eagles continued to pull away from the Bulls with fast ball movement and lock-down defense, scoring four in the fourth.

Notable performances on the day include David Hincks' three goals and two assists and Grant Van Fossan's two goals and three assists.

After knocking of Buffalo, the Eagles look to capture their second PCLL win against crosstown rivals Northeastern on Friday, April 21, at 6 p.m. in the Eagles' own Alumni Stadium.
