BYU Unveils 2017 Schedule

PROVO, Utah – The Brigham Young University men’s lacrosse team has announced an aggressive, 16-game schedule for 2017. The Cougars will make three consecutive regular-season, out-of-state road trips and will play seven teams that attended the 2016 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, including defending national champion Chapman.

The Cougars have eight home dates, beginning with SLC contender Arizona on Feb. 3 to open the home schedule followed by a game versus PNCLL powerhouse Boise State on Feb. 18. A challenging stretch of road trips for the Cougars will include games against UNLV and Cal Poly in Las Vegas before away contests against Arizona State and Grand Canyon. San Diego State and Chapman round out the grueling road trip.

The Cougars will be back in Provo to face another PNCLL power, Simon Fraser, on March 18 followed by WCLL up-and-comer Nevada on March 25. The Cougars will travel to Utah State on April 1 to open the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League portion of slate.

In a rematch of BYU's two 2016 RMLC tournament games, the Cougars will face Colorado State and Colorado in Provo on April 6 and April 8. The Cougars head into their final stretch of the season facing LSA power Texas on April 15 at home on North University Lacrosse Field.

A quick trip across town to play RMLC rival Utah Valley follows on April 20. The Cougars will wrap up the regular season at home on April 22 in their annual rivalry game versus Utah. This final game of the season will also recognize the 10 seniors competing in their final season for Cougars.

The RMLC playoffs are scheduled for April 28-29 in Boulder, Colo., and the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour will be held once again in Southern California over the week of May 8-13 at UC-Irvine and Chapman.

BYU kicks off scrimmage play on Jan. 28 against NCAA Division II opponent -- and formal MCLA rival -- Westminster College.
