BERKELEY, Calif. -- The University of California at Berkeley men's lacrosse team will be led by three captains during the 2016 season, according to Golden Bears' head coach Ned Webster.

Senior defender Connor McLeod, senior attackman Dillon Flood and junior middie Max McKone were selected based upon a vote from the players and coaches. McLeod is a Junipero Serra High product and recipient of the Doug Sciutto Memorial Award. Flood played his prep lacrosse at La Costa Canyon High in Encinitas, Calif., while McKone starred at Novato (Calif.) High.

“Nine upperclassmen received votes for captain, which shows how fortunate we are to have so many leaders,” said Webster. “But the three who really stood out this fall were Connor, Dillon and Max. They really embody everything that is great about our team: our academic success, our hustle, sportsmanship and blue collar approach to the game.”

The upper class will be tasked with competing against a rugged, 14-game schedule that features seven teams that finished in the Under Armour Top 25 Coaches Poll. Seven games will be played in historic California Memorial Stadium, which is also the home of the Bears' football team.
