BOSTON – The top four teams in each division are heading to the Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) tournament hosted by Union Point Sports Complex and Weymouth High School from April 26-27.
The winners of each division will earn an automatic qualifying berth to the 2025 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be hosted from May 5-10 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex. The brackets for the tourney will be released on Sunday night.
Action opens up at the Union Point Sports Complex on Saturday with a pair of Division II semifinals. Top-seeded Bridgewater State faces UMass-Dartmouth in a rematch of a March 23 contest that the Bears took home, 15-12. On the other side of the bracket, defending CLC champ Rhode Island tackles Maine. The Rams downed the Black Bears, 18-4, on April 6.
The Division II title tilt will occur at Weymouth High School at 1 p.m.
The Division I semifinals will follow D-II on Saturday, starting with No. 1 seed Northeastern playing New Hampshire. The Huskies downed the Wildcats, 16-11, during the regular season. Boston College and Connecticut reacquaint themselves in the other semifinal, with the Eagles hoping to match their 10-7 victory over the Huskies from April 12.
The Division I final will faceoff at 4 p.m.
The Division III final will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.
"Looking forward to witnessing the manifestation of all of the hard work and sacrifices made by our players, their coaches and their families, as their teams compete for a conference championship,” said CLC director Donald Vince.
“First class facilities at Union Point and Weymouth High School will serve as the perfect venues for these games. With D-I and D-II AQs on the line, championship Sunday in the CLC is always an exciting day. And, for our D-III teams, it is their Super Bowl, bringing great energy to start the day."
Tickets are $15 for adults each day and $10 for students and senior citizens. Children under 10 are free. Cash, Venmo and PayPal are accepted at the gate. The individual teams will stream their own contests.
