SAN DIEGO – Concordia-Irvine wasted little time in taking control of the game, thundering past Northern Arizona, 24-6, to win the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference Division II championship with ease on Sunday.
The Eagles earn an automatic bid to the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will be held in Orange County, Calif., from May 8-13.
This will be the sixth consecutive trip to nationals for Concordia-Irvine.
Behind the unstoppable play of SLC Offensive Player of the Year Jonah Rinaldi, who had six first-half goals, the Eagles built a huge lead that the Lumberjacks could not cut into.
Concordia-Irvine will find out its seed and first round opponent on Sunday when the MCLA National Championship Division II brackets are unveiled on MCLA.us.
