ATLANTA – After posting an undefeated national championship season last spring, Brigham Young is the near consensus top team in the opening edition of the New Balance Division I Weekly Coaches poll, which was released on Wednesday, March 5.

The Cougars (6-0) have pushed their winning streak to 25 games after dispatching with Chapman over the weekend, earning them 26 first-place votes. Northeastern (6-0), which has already swept a pair of rigorous road trips, checks in at No. 2.

Cal Poly (6-0), another undefeated outfit that trails the Huskies by two points in the poll, is at No. 3, bolstered by the final first-place vote.

Florida (5-1) has three ranked wins so far this season, including a home victory over No. 5 Utah Valley (2-1), placing them fourth. The Wolverines are coming off the ’24 season when they played for the national championship against conference rival BYU.

The ALC, RMLC and SELC all placed four teams in the poll this week to lead the way.
