ATLANTA – For the third week and second with a unanimous tally, the University of California-Berkeley is the top dog in the Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending March 19.
Biting at Cal’s (9-0) heels is Georgia Tech (9-0), which is in the second chair for the second straight week and in the Top 5 for the fourth time. If the Ramblin’ Wreck charges through the rest of their slate and the loaded SELC tournament – which currently boasts four Top 11 teams – can they catch the Golden Bears?
Arizona State (7-1) bumps up a spot to No. 3 this week, taking over for Concordia-Irvine (8-1), which plummeted to No. 7 with the Eagles loss to No. 13 Grand Canyon (this poll does not reflect GCU’s Tuesday loss to Utah Valley).
The Sun Devils are followed by Liberty (7-0) at No. 4 and Chapman (6-2) in the No. 5 slot.
Northeastern and Oregon departed the poll this week to make way for No. 18 New Hampshire (4-0) and No. 25 Utah Valley (7-0).
