ATLANTA – After helping navigate his team through the toughest conference in the land to a league championship, Dayton senior goalie Ross Sattler has earned Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending May 1.

In victories over No. 8 Grand Valley State and No. 11 Lourdes, Sattler combined for 26 saves, a 61.9 save percentage and an 8.00 goals against average. The Rossford, Ohio, product also grabbed five ground balls, helping the Flyers earn the No. 2 seed in the MCLA National Championships.

“He was a rock for the defense when things broke down and made the big saves when we needed them,” said Dayton coach Joe Venturella. “He was great on the clear and was a vocal leader for the whole team in both games.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Sattler will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

UNDER ARMOUR HONOR ROLL

Jack Smith, Soph., Missouri Valley – The attackman helped the Vikings capture another GRLC crown by scoring 11 goals and setting up three others. For his efforts, he was named the offensive MVP for the tournament.

Jake Caliguire, Fr., Sierra Nevada – The Eagles made it back-to-back WCLL championships with a little help from the rookie attackman. He had five goals and four assists in the two games while also gobbling up three ground balls.
