Devlin Takes Over at Stonehill

Easton, MA - As Stonehill College Men’s Lacrosse team wraps up its 2025 season, the coaching staff will be undergoing a significant change. Joe McDonough ’05 has stepped down as Head Coach – a position he’s held for the past 20 seasons. McDonough has been a stalwart of the program since his playing career at Stonehill. His impact on both the program and players he's played with and coached is immeasurable. McDonough will continue to be involved with the program as the Alumni Liaison.
Taking over for McDonough as Head Coach is Ben Devlin ’92. Devlin has been the Defensive Coordinator at Stonehill for the past 3 seasons. Devlin began his coaching career at his high school alma mater, Catholic Memorial, where he coached from 2002-2011. In 2012 he transitioned to Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA where he stayed until stepping down at the end of the 2024 season. Devlin also coached the Southeast team in the Baystate games in 2016 and 2017. Devlin currently resides in Easton, MA with his wife and two daughters.
Brian Donovan will stay on in his current role as Offensive Coordinator which he has held for the past three seasons. Donovan previously coached at Archbishop Williams High School. A Holbrook native, he played attack and midfield at BC High before heading to Curry College where he played four years for the Colonels. Donovan resides in Holbrook, MA with his wife and daughter.
Steve Keohane, who has spent the last two seasons as the Skyhawks goalie coach, will continue in that role while also taking on the role of Defensive Coordinator. Keohane previously coached at Oliver Ames High School, Easton Youth Lacrosse and Glastonbury High School in Connecticut. Keohane also played as a midfielder at Assumption College. Keohane lives in Easton with his wife and son.
The Skyhawks now turn their attention to preparing for the 2026 season.
