ATLANTA – After putting together a dominating performance in the Owls run to a second-straight SELC championship, Florida Atlantic graduate attackman Ryan Kerr is the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 20.

Florida Atlantic entered the four-team tournament as the top seed out of the SELC South, matching them up with Georgia Southern out of the North. Thanks to four goals and three dimes from the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., product, the Owls rolled into the title game.

It was there that Kerr struck for a hat trick and five helpers as FAU held of Kennesaw State, 16-11, for the title. Kerr factored in on half of the offensive production on the afternoon.

For the weekend, he finished with 15 points (7g, 8a) to push him over the 100-point plateau for the second straight year.

“Ryan has been with our program for two years now and has helped lift this program to a new level,” said Florida Atlantic coach Stavros Neocleous. “His consistent play and effort holds the entire team accountable.

“Ryan’s play throughout the championship weekend was as good as it gets, setting the standard in game one and keeping us close in the championship game until the team found its footing. He has earned every accolade in the book and continues to work his hardest to push the team.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Kerr will receive a Warrior XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
