ATLANTA – St. Thomas grabbed its division-leading fifth MCLA Division II championship and, not surprisingly, they are atop the final Under Armour MCLA Coaches poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Tommies swept all 19 first place votes to lead the way and were followed by national runner-up Grand Valley State. North Dakota State, Concordia-Irvine and Dayton round out the Top Five.
Despite knocking off defending champion Dayton in the quarterfinals and marching to the semifinals, Reinhardt was slotted behind the Flyers in the No. 6 chair.
Both Southern Oregon and Bridgewater State entered the poll for the first time in the 2016 season, displacing San Diego and Lawrence Tech.
