ATLANTA- Air Force traveled to College of Idaho last week after being idle for over a month.  A top five showdown after such a long layoff presents quite a challenge.  The Falcons were up to it and handed the Yotes their first loss of the season.  Air Force junior Mitchell Gillem had scored five goals coming into the game, but managed to nearly match his season total in the game scoring four goals.  Gillem’s scoring from the midfield helped the Falcons get the win.  For good measure Gillem added another four goals when Air Force played Utah State later the same day.

Air Force coach Rober Koehler said, “Mitch has always been a team leader on and off the field. It was great to see him break out with four goals in each game. He has the hardest shot on the team but he is very unselfish and doesn't usually shoot that much. He sensed we needed a little lift when two of our starting attackman got hurt. He is one of the toughest competitors on our team.”

In recognition of his efforts Gillem has been named MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week.  Gillem will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
