SPARKS, Md. -- The USA Lacrosse Magazine, the publication for USA Lacrosse -- the governing body of the sport -- has released its Top 20 MCLA Division II preseason ranking and Grand Valley State has been chosen as the team to beat.

The Lakers were followed by Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) rivals St. Thomas, Minn.-Duluth and North Dakota. In the fifth spot was Kennesaw State.
Grand Valley State was ranked fifth in the 2022 New Balance MCLA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.
