ATLANTA – After leading Liberty to an impressive neutral-site upset over the top-ranked team in the country, Flames junior netminder Eric Warnstrom is the MCLA Division I PEARL Goalie of the Week for the period ending March 12.

Going up against Georgia Tech's prolific offense, the Buford, Ga., native stopped 16 shots as Liberty posted the 12-9 triumph. He finished with a 64.0 save percentage.

“Eric had some pretty big shoes to fill for us this season and he has done an amazing job,” said Liberty coach Kyle McQuillan. “Each game he continues to improve and against Georgia Tech he had his best game of the year holding a very good offense to the least amount of points they have scored this season.

“We are very excited to see him continue to build confidence and get even better as the season goes on.”

For earning the PEARL’s Goalie of the Week, Warnstrom will receive a prize package from Guardian PEARL, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian PEARL is the proud partner of the MCLA.
