LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Coming off its second straight tip to the quarterfinals of the MCLA National Championships sponsored by New Balance, the Liberty men's lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the 2020 campaign.

The Flames will play a 14-game regular season featuring nine opponents ranked in the final 2019 coaches poll and six teams that competed at nationals. The highlight of the schedule comes midseason when Liberty travels to South Carolina on March 21 to take on the defending MCLA Division I champions.

“We lost a lot of talented players last year who will be very difficult to replace, but we are confident in the group that we have for this season," said Liberty coach Kyle McQuillan. "We have added 16 new players, including a couple of transfer athletes, and I expect us to compete not only for an SELC championship, but a national championship, as well.

"Coming off an undefeated regular season last year only to fall short in our conference playoffs and again in Utah has been difficult to digest this offseason, but I think it will help provide us with some useful motivation”.
