Loyola Marymount Announces Head Coach Search

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Loyola Marymount University men's lacrosse program would like to announce an immediate opening for men's head lacrosse coach.

The Loyola Marymount University lacrosse program is a club member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and competes in the Southwestern Lacrosse conference. The team is seeking an experienced coach who is able to balance the challenges of coaching an MCLA program and maintaining a winning culture at a major university, which makes recruiting top lacrosse talent possible.

Job Summary includes, but is not limited to, the following primary duties:

• Clearly communicate expectations and create a culture of accountability through example
• Create an environment of professionalism
• Create a culture of winning through example and merit
• Create a culture of mutual respect between the coaching staff and team
• Create a culture where on-field success and academic success are equal
• Provide organized and documented practice schedules
• Perform scouting and film study
• Clearly communicate program expectations to the team
• Perform effective in-game coaching
• Work effectively with the team's Executive Board and other interest groups (parents, alumni and friends) that support the team
• Build and implement a successful recruiting program

Schedule

• Fall semester: 3 days per week (practice)
• Spring semester: 3 days per week (practice) + games
• Practices usually falling between 7-9pm

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation with be competitive with other MCLA programs
• Other earning potential through local youth club programs, camps and tournaments
• Administrative and operational support provided by our alumni organization

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Prior MCLA experience, as either a head coach or assistant coach
• Prior experience as a successful head coach at a high school or college level program
• Ability to work with and maintain positive relationships with a diverse group of parties, including players, parents, and alumni. Our parents and alumni are the primary funding sources for the program.

• Final decision target for September 1st 2026
