ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity lacrosse organization in the country, is proud to announce that it will return to Southern California for the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.

As has been the case the last three seasons, the next MCLA championship tournament will have its first round and quarterfinals at the University of California-Irvine while the semifinals and finals will be on the campus of Chapman University. The first two rounds will take place on May 8 and 9, 2017, followed by the semifinals on May 11 and the finals on May 13.

“We’re excited to bring our championships to Southern California for the fourth consecutive year,” said Ken Lovic, the MCLA’s president. “UC Irvine and Chapman are fantastic venues for our student-athletes as well as our fans. The whole experience is a proper reward for our top teams and players.”

Similar to the past two MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, teams will be able to stay at the “Championship Village,” a discounted group of hotels located near both venues that features free ground transportation to-and-from the event locations as well as other nearby attractions.

Sixteen teams in both MCLA divisions will qualify for the championships. The brackets for the ’17 tournament will be announced on Sunday, April 30.

At the conclusion of the 2017 tournament, possible sites for future tournaments will be reevaluated and the site of the 2018 championships will be announced. This is a one-year agreement.
