PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Michigan State captured the 2015 Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association's Division I championship in 2015, earning a trip to the MCLA national tournament, and the Spartans are expected to reprise that role according to the league's preseason coaches poll.
Michigan State finished two points ahead of Davenport, which is fitting since that was the margin in the Spartans 11-9 win over the Panthers in the CCLA title tilt. Davenport won the regular season meeting between the two programs, 11-7.
Pittsburgh grabbed the third spot in the preseason poll, significantly ahead of Western Michigan, which rounded out the top four.
