NAU Tabs Davis as Head Coach

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The Northern Arizona men's lacrosse team is pleased to announce that Cail Davis has been hired as its head coach for the 2026 season. Davis is a 2024 graduate of NAU and was an assistant coach in '23 and the co-offensive coordinator in '25.
Davis, a native of Tucson, played for three years for the Lumberjacks from 2001-03 as a two-way midfielder where he amassed 21 goals and 14 assists before injuries ended his lacrosse career. He was the treasurer of the NAU program in '23.
A graduate of Oro Valley (Ariz.) High School, Davis was a four-time all-state selection, leading the Wolverines to a Division II state title in 2018. He graduated as the all-time leader in goals, assists in points for Oro Valley.
Davis started his coaching career age 15 coaching U14 lacrosse and was an offensive coordinator during his high school years.
He takes over a Lumberjack program that finished the 2025 season with a 4-5 mark, just barely missing out on the four-team SLC tournament.
