JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida is excited to announce that Chris Hendricks has been named the next head coach of the UNF men’s lacrosse program.
Hendricks returns to UNF following four seasons as the head coach at Georgia Southern. In his first year with the Eagles, he led the team to its first-ever appearance in the SELC Championship Weekend and maintained a competitive presence throughout all four seasons.
A UNF alumnus, Hendricks played attack for the Ospreys from 2014 to 2017. He later served as the offensive coordinator in 2018 and 2019 — helping lead the program to its second SELC tournament appearance in 2018 and its first-ever SELC championship in 2019. That historic 2019 team advanced to the national quarterfinals in Salt Lake City.
“I’m beyond excited to come back to the Nest and bring success back to UNF," Hendricks said. "This program means a lot to me — as a former player and coach — and I’m committed to building a strong foundation for long-term success. We’re going to work hard, recruit the right way, and make UNF a consistent contender both in the SELC and nationally.”
UNF Lacrosse looks forward to this new chapter under Hendricks’ leadership and is eager to continue building a program rooted in tradition, development and competitive excellence.
