PROVIDENCE, R.I. – With a strong finishing kick, Boston College methodically pulled away from UConn to post a 14-5 victory in the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League (PCLL) Division I championship on Sunday afternoon at Brown University.
Boston College (12-3) earns an automatic bid to the 2016 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will take place in Orange County, Calif., from May 9-14. The Eagles will be making their 10th appearance at nationals and the first since 2014. They will find out their seed and matchup this evening.
BC and UConn (11-3) took a solid 20 minutes feeling each other out as the duo was tied at threes midway through the second quarter. From there, however, it was all Eagles. Top-seeded BC finished the game on an 11-2 run, thanks to a hat trick from freshman attackman Lawson Pisani and dominant faceoff play from sophomore Griffin Carney.
