PITTSBURGH -- A year after advancing to the CCLA championship game, the Pittsburgh men's lacrosse team has announced its captains for the 2018 season along with releasing its spring schedule.

Senior defender Kyle Watkins, senior goalie Kevin Hudson, junior middie Dan Wasson and sophomore middie Zach Romac will lead the Panthers during the '18 campaign.

A senior from West Lawn, Pa., Watkins is a returning starter on defense and is coming off a second straight second team all-conference season, where he led the team with 84 ground balls. After transferring from Saint Leo (Fla.) University after his freshman year, Watkins has been a force to be reckoned with during his sophomore and junior seasons at Pitt. He is a Finance major.

Hudson is a Pittsburgh native and is in his second season with Pitt after playing midfield his freshman year at Wheeling Jesuit (W.V) University, and taking a sophomore year hiatus from lacrosse in his first academic year at Pitt. Hudson looks to build on his success from last year, anchoring another strong defensive campaign. Hudson is studying Humanities.

From Springfield, Pa., Wasson is a three-year starter on offense, and was third on the team in points last year. He looks to continue this productivity this season as a leader of the offense. Wasson is an Actuarial Mathematics major, so he’ll be able to calculate all the points he puts up.

An uncommon sophomore captain, Romac made an immediate impact on the offense in his freshman year, finishing second on the team in total points behind first team all-conference attackman Matt Higgins. Romac will continue to lead the offense this season. Romac is studying Engineering.

The Panthers 12-game schedule features five teams that were ranked in the final MCLA Top 25 poll.
