PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland got back to its winning ways on Sunday with a victory over PNCLL North division foe Pacific Lutheran, 19-2.

The Pilots gained some much-needed momentum before heading into their matchup with Top-25 opponent Sierra Nevada on March 19 in Ashland, Ore. The win puts Portland at 2-2 overall on the season.

Offensively, the love was spread out with 10 Portland players earning points. Owen McNiff (4g, 2a) and Madison Pihl (2g, 4a) led the charge with six points apiece.

Bailey Bezich (4g, 1a) added five points, while Andrew Joyce (3g, 1a) added four of his own. Long possessions and taking care of the ball helped Portland immensely.

The Pilots struggled on ground balls early, but were able to minimize Pacific Lutheran's time of possession by keeping their shot count down. Goalie Evans Lineweaver had six saves.

Savon Sengsavanh led the team with 7 ground balls and defenseman Andrew Belove earned the game ball for his solid play off the bench.
