As is the case every summer we have realignment news in the MCLA.
The first dominoes this time come from the ALC.
On the Division I side, the ALC loses three teams. Kentucky is moving to the UMLC, which gives them easy travel to Miami, Indiana, and Purdue. North Carolina and NC State are both moving to Division II. This leaves the ALC with six Division I teams, which is the magic number for the automatic qualifier; although, if you win the ALC you are almost assuredly making the National Championships AQ or not.
In Division II, the addition of the Tar Heels and Wolfpack has led to a new regional format. With the new format, the quarterfinals will now be a full eight team quarterfinal with the top two finishers in each region qualifying. The regions are broken down below.
| Mountain | Piedmont | Central | Shoreline |
| Appalachian State | Davidson | William & Mary | UNC-Wilmington |
| Virginia Tech DII | UNC-Charlotte | East Carolina | Charleston |
| High Point | Wake Forest | NC State | Citadel |
| Elon | North Carolina | Coastal Carolina |
